1. Main raw materials of cosmetics
With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for cosmetics is also increasing, and the raw materials used in the manufacture of cosmetics are becoming more and more extensive.
Why can the raw materials of cosmetics be absorbed by the skin, and which ones are most suitable for the skin?
At present, there are 350 kinds of raw materials used in cosmetics in the world, including natural raw materials and synthetic raw materials.
However, in order to ensure the safety of human skin, the inspection of cosmetic raw materials is very strict. For example, in Japan, although there are nearly 250 kinds of cosmetic raw materials in China, only 80 kinds can be used.
In China, there are 10 main categories of raw materials used in cosmetics
(1) Oil, wax; 2. Powder; 3. Mucus; 4. Pigment; 5. Solvent; 6 flavor; surfactant; panacea; moisturizer; preservative and antioxidant.
2. Why are cosmetics absorbed by the skin?
Generally speaking, most substances will not be absorbed by the skin, such as petrolatum, silicone oil, liquid paraffin and other mineral oils are not easily absorbed.
However, after mineral oil is mixed with surfactants, it easily penetrates into the skin and becomes one of the main ingredients of cosmetics.
Animal and vegetable oils are more easily absorbed by the skin. Oil-soluble hormones and fat-soluble vitamins A, B, and e are easily absorbed.
If the pearl powder in cosmetics is directly applied to the skin, it will not be absorbed. Only when pearl powder is hydrolyzed into pearl liquid, into low-molecular-weight amino acids and trace elements, can it be absorbed by the skin along with the lotion.
Which cosmetics is best for the skin
The surface of human skin is covered with a natural sebum film, which is called "milk film" in medicine.
The "milk film" of healthy skin is weakly acidic, that is, the pH is 4.5-6.5, with an average of 5.7. Generally speaking, men's skin is more acidic, so the skin itself has certain sterilization and self-purification effects. The experimental results of Japanese scholars show that when the skin is exposed to soapy water with a pH of 10, the pH of the skin is close to 8. After 30 minutes, the pH is 7 and the pH is 6.3 after 1 hour.
Because the skin is weakly acidic, it is believed that alkaline cosmetics such as soap are harmful to the skin.
Although this problem does not exist in the skin cushioning range, the cushioning effect of the skin varies from person to person. When the skin's cushioning function is weak or the skin's cushioning function is weakened, the use of high-alkaline cosmetics can easily cause skin inflammation or rash.
